Pelican Bar, a hut erected on a shoal three quarters of a mile at sea - completely original - is the brainchild of Delroy Forbes aka Flyd, a fisherman from the remote seaside village of Parottee.
Pelican Bar is about a 20-minute boat ride from Jake's to and a must do for anyone visiting Treasure Beach. On the way you will pass a few seaside homes and guesthouses and endless miles of scrubby sunbaked beach.
Pelican Bar is the ultimate spot to hang with a Red Stripe, an excellent place for a morning snorkel and Flyd will cook lunch if it is prearranged. Plan to stop there on a boat trip to Black River.
