THE CAVES IN NEGRIL, JAMAICA VOTED BEST LUXURY HOTEL IN THE CARIBBEAN BY TRIPADVISOR.COM
NEGRIL, JAMAICA (January 24, 2006) -- “Funky, fun, artsy, romantic, sensual…,” commented a Tripadvisor member who visited The Caves in Negril, Jamaica. It’s no wonder that Tripadvisor, the leading travel research site, announced that The Caves was named the Best Luxury hotel in the Caribbean in the TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice Overall Hotel List for 2005.
“To be given this accolade of Best Luxury Hotel in the Caribbean is the ultimate endorsement from the people that matter to us, our guests. We endeavor to provide our customers with a unique experience that is both fun and sophisticated, while ensuring standards and service are never compromised” Manager, The Caves, Charlotte Wallace.
The TripAdvisor Traveler’s Choice list is based on the wealth of online travel information collected by TripAdvisor. Articles, TripAdvisor.com member reviews written by the over 10 million worldwide visitors each month, guidebook listings and web comments all factor into a hotel’s ranking. The more positive information published on the web about a hotel, the higher the hotel’s ranking.
Trip Advisor uses a distinct methodology which includes: • TripAdvisor’s proprietary search technology continuously scours the web for articles, reviews and opinions published on various travel topics including hotel properties • TripAdvisor.com’s 10 million members rate and write reviews on 100,000 hotel properties worldwide • TripAdvisor assigns each hotel a “popularity index” based on the quantity and quality of data • TripAdvisor then ranks the hotels in each city and then region based on their web popularity score
The Caves, Negril, Jamaica At the Caves, the volcanic cliff is honeycombed with grottoes: one strewn with flowers and candlelit for intimate dining, another harbouring a bubbling hot tub, some are just portals into the crystal-clear sea below, populated by dolphins, parrot fish and sea turtles. Ten hand-crafted cottages nestle into this verdant landscape, crowned by a petite Aveda spa. Small wonder the exclusive magazine Robb Report celebrated this resort among the "World’s 10 Great Escapes" in March 2004: "Outside, turquoise water laps languidly against rocky cliffs, recalling the Caribbean before high tech hotels vanquished the landscape and personal watercraft disturbed the calm." The Caves serves island fare - with the accent on light and healthy dishes such as juicy jerk chicken, and freshly grilled seafood served with mountains of fresh fruit and vegetables. Rates range from $515 (£295) per room, per night for a one bedroom suite to $950 (£535) for a deluxe two bedroom. Rates are based on single or double occupancy and include all meals and beverages. Only children age 16 and up are permitted, in order to maintain the intimacy of the resort.
