Nature
The casual opulence of lush tropical surrounds offset by comfortably sophisticated interiors makes Strawberry Hill a thoroughly satisfying sensory retreat. The property's luxuriant gardens, sprawling great lawn and plethora of native avocado, mango, coffee, ackee, star apple, orange, lime, sour sop, banana, june plum and guava trees, as well as a host of indigenous fauna and flora, make it feast for all senses. A quiet stroll through the stone-lined paths and winding vistas becomes its own nature outing all located within the expansive womb of the forty-eight acre property.
The Library
A retreat unto itself, the beautifully situated Library is a comfortable space where you’ll find access to reading materials, including local and international newspapers and magazines, wireless DSL, board games and vintage celebrity photographs, including music icons Marianne Faithful, Steve Winwood and Rita Marley. The adjoining veranda is the perfect spot for a light lunch or afternoon tea accompanied by an a la carte menu. The unique blend of Georgian style elegance with Caribbean warmth offers the perfect marriage of shuttered privacy and gorgeous mountaintop expansiveness.
The Gold Room
The Gold Room is a state-of-the-art multi-media center as well as a living testament to the many achievements that memorialized the Blackwell-Marley creative partnership. All the necessary amenities, including wireless DSL, a projection screen, a large conference table and a flat screen television are available for individual or group use. More than just a business center, the history-defining trophies and framed gold and platinum disc awards from artists Blackwell and Island Records have either produced or nurtured, including King Crimson, Traffic, Cat Stevens, Dru Hill, U2, Melissa Etheridge and Nine Inch Nails, make the Gold Room an inspiring venue for creative exchange.
The Gift Shop
The Gift Shop, located at the reception check-in, features sundries ranging from Bob Marley incense candles to handbags, aromatic body and hand crèmes, fine soaps, hand-woven shoes, local craft items, CDs, postcards and travel amenities. Additionally, a bottle of Chris Blackwell’s signature Blackwell Fine Jamaican Rum makes the perfect souvenir to commemorate your stay with us.
As a reminder to our guests, weekends are often a busy time with locals visiting the property and various occasions being celebrated.
