Island ACTS - Assisting Communities Toward Strength -
a charitable organization dedicated to the relief of the poor and underprivileged, primarily through the advancement of education, healthcare and community development projects in Jamaica.

The history and the reality of the Jamaican people is one of struggle and hardship, joy and faith, insight, intelligence, humor, and hope. Island ACTS is dedicated to the work of fulfilling those hopes, easing those struggles, and realizing the full potential of marginalized communities in Jamaica and elsewhere. " When I started Island Records in Jamaica almost fifty years ago, it was because I was captivated by the rhythms and the storytellers of a rich and diverse culture. Having achieved some success since then, built on the foundation of that Jamaican music, I have always tried to make it a priority to give back to the people of Jamaica. I want to expand that commitment through a non-profit foundation I have established called Island ACTS. In addition to charitable contributions in the US and elsewhere, Island ACTS will fund and promote better health, education and welfare in some of Jamaica's poorest communities." - Chris Blackwell
