On the East coast of Portland, around Manchioneal, is an extremely popular waterfall called Reach. It is up in the mountains via a scenic route, but well worth half a day cooling off in the many pools there.

Upstream from the main falls area are many other cascades which have shallower pools, but are more peaceful.
