Island Outpost’s GoldenEye was featured in Marin Magazine’s November 2014 issue. The article was featured in the magazine’s Destinations sections boasted under the title, Realign and Recharge. The article spoke about the endeavors of owner, Chris Blackwell, in relationship to his work with Bob Marley and U2 going on to name Island Outpost’s GoldenEye, “Jamaica’s raddest resort”.  Golden Eye was the former residence of Ian Fleming, as well as the birthplace of all 14 James Bond novels. Marin Magazine explained the various accommodations ranging from Flemming’s own villa with a personal staff to beachfront villas in which each promises a serene oasis in Oracabessa.  The article describes the mai tais as fresh lime juice spiked with Blackwell’s own dark rum and the cuisine as fresh from the garden on the resort grounds. It goes on to give note to GoldenEye’s variety of activities, which include snorkeling the reefs in the sea or stand-up paddle boarding the lavishly green lagoon. The magazine then explains how guests can swim or kayak themselves to GoldenEye’s FieldSpa to indulge in salt scrubs, massages and facials, all in open-air treatment rooms; perfect for guests looking for a little adventure and a little relaxation. The article goes as far as to call the Spa, “one of the prettiest in the world.” For those in search of a more spiritual experience, patrons can participate in sound meditation and yoga on the deck. When the night comes, the magazine speaks to GoldenEye as hosting full moon parties that include jerk barbecues, James Bond movies nights under the Caribbean night sky and bonfires on the beach. For thirsty guests, the main bar can be enjoyed along with the rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia that litters the walls and ceilings. Mr. Blackwell himself is often found at this part of the resort, the creator of what Marin Magazine calls a “Jamaican paradise”.
